This week is a very special event as this is the ordination sermon of our own Mr. Wesley Sun. Mr. Sun has been with First Baptist as a seminary intern and during this year has received the call and chose First Baptist as the home to enter into Gods service. Join us in listening to this sermon where he shows he is competent to be a leader in the church of god. Mr. Sun reads from Genesis 25:19-35 Mr Sun gives us a fresh look at this story and how it might relate to our modern world. At the end of this sermon the church body agreed unanimously that Mr. Sun should become Reverend Sun. It is with great pleasure we welcome Reverend Sun into the pastoral staff of First baptist. Thanks to everyone listening to our podcast. Please drop us a Note at fbcpreacher@fbcpreacher.com or submit your comments here on the web page about anything you might hear in this ministry. Reading from Genesis 21:9-21 Reverend Brown reminds us to always maintain our perspective when dealing with others. How often do we use our children as pawns in relationships with other adults. Isn't it time to accept our responsibilities as Fathers and Mothers to take care of and love our children while leaving our personal wants and desires out of the picture. When asked to do the impossible how often have we given as our response a cynical laugh, with the tag line "Who Me?" Reading from Genesis 15:5-6;18:11-14;21:1-8 we hear the story of Sara who on hearing Gods plan for her laughs too. It's only when Gods plan plays out and she sees it is true does she really laugh. So when we are asked of the impossible, do we laugh cynically or heartily at a job well done? Thanks to everyone listening to our podcast. With September and everyone back in school everyone is back from vacation and we have Reverend Jesse Brown back in the pulpit. Reading from Genesis 1:26-30 Reverend Brown this week talks to us about self worth. What do we need to feel worthy. Is it a complement, is it a man or is it a new car. If these are what cause us to feel worthy maybe we need to revisit that. The love of a man a women or the smell of a new car maybe be fleeting, but the love of Jesus and God is never ending. We need to accept that all we truely need to feel loved is to accept Christ into our hearts. Thanks to everyone listening to our podcast.
